        Students read a details of different types of computer.     

               Types of computer

         1. Mainframes                                                         

            - Large,powerful,expensive.

            - Multi-use systems-used by many people at the same time.

            - Use for processing very lage amounts of data.

            - The most powerful mainframes are called supercomputer.

        2. Minicomputers

            - Used like mainframes.

            - Not as big, powerful, or expensive as mainframes.

            - Less common now because microcomputers have improved.

        3. Microcomputer or Personal computers (PCs)

            - The most common type of computer.

            - Smaller,cheaper,and less powerful than mainframes and

               minicomputers.

                     Types of  computer

        1. Laptop

           - About the size of a small typewriter.

           - Less common now because smaller and lighter portable

             are available.

       2. Notebook

           - About the size of a piece of writing paper.

           - The most common type of portable.

       3. Subnotebook

           - Not quit as big as notebooks. Can fit into a jacket pocket.

       4. Handheld or Palmtop

           - Small enough to fit into the palm of one hand.

           - Not easy to type with because of their size.

           - Often used as personal organizers.

    Attitude and Tone

    To read critically, you should take the attitude and tone of the text into consideration. The writer can signal his or her attitude and tone from the words used in the passage. Actually, attitude or tone of the passage can be classified into three levels: positive, negative, and neutral. When good things are mentioned in the text, it means that the writer has a positive attitude or the text has a positive tone. On the other hand, when bad things are expressed, it means that the writer has a negative attitude or negative tone. In some cases, one text might have both negative and positive attitude; therefore, you have to pay attention to words used in the texts, e.g. "Sometimes I see what the media writers. Sometimes I laugh and other times it makes me want to cry.
